Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

The reality

I’ve been completely checked out since the December earnings call and have been a poor teammate. All subconsciously. I came to this realization when I noticed little things I would normally be on top of slipping through the cracks and believe you mean when I say I’m usually on it. I say subconsciously because I honestly have been trying to proceed and lead my team like it’s business as usual and I did some soul searching after being called out last week and realized that yea, I was showing up daily but not being present. I share this because if this happened to me, where else in the company is it happening. And then think about the people who have consciously checked out.

I say all this to say, don’t you dare try to have anything close to a serious meeting/ask/conversation with me till Mid May and that assumes I make it to the other side.
Thanks

This is bigger than a poor leadership decision. How many overt signals does the BOD need before it calls some sort of emergency session. This slow drip layoff has paralyzed an entire workforce….at the moment when the company business needs people the most. The Nike business is swirling the drain and it’s the worst time to have employees pause their work. I don’t blame you….you gotta take care of your mental health cause leadership so obviously does.not.care. A layoff is not going to solve the real problem. Motivating a talented workforce that’s scared to death would do more good long term than a layoff that just gives triple work to those who survive and only exacerbates the culture issue.
