Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Confused

I understood HUM reduced EPS earlier this year because of increased utilization, but according to CMS.gov:

“Did the CMS data show increased utilization in quarter 4 of 2023 in Medicare Fee-for-Service?

Actual program payments during the fourth quarter of 2023 for FFS services provided during the fourth quarter of 2023 did not show higher utilization than what was expected based on prior year seasonal trends.”

I believe that data is not Payor specific. Our MLR was up for last year, and expenses were above the usual Q4 bump.

There could be an explanation regarding it based on the utilization of Humana members specifically, such that the members Humana serves have different racial and environmental aspects to their health. Overall utilization was not up, but specifically for Humana it was.

That’s the only explanation I can think without them lying through their teeth.

Of course the c suite LIED! They lied so they could find a way to preserve their bonuses. And believe me, they made MILLIONS!! All of this debauchery tells me Humana is a criminal entity.
