Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Ageism

To the youngsters posting that we should retire. We made the company a place you longed to work at. You came and did nothing. Yes whiners and lazy entitled, we will stay and get our package. Go have your parents cook you dinner, you weaklings, and scroll your phone as we actually follow sports and still believe in this company. You are our downfall.

One team, one dream … this team sounds “ awesome “ & unlike any culture any one would want to be a part of. Old and young and in the middle … age is a part of diversity…. Diversification of thought and perspectives.

JD lost, but don’t let yourself lose too. The toxicity is multiplying.

@aad+1rSSr8cV made millions? Long time employee here and you're way off! Why are we still working? Well, I can assure you we don't have millions and most don't even have a million. We didn't have all the options you have today at the company the whole time. Any "free money" was in Nike stock and you see where that's gone. We've been through many ups and downs at Nike and this isn't our first loss.
Are we in a worse position now? Yes! Profit sharing was taken from us so my suggestion to all of you is invest outside of Nike as you'll do better.
Also, retirement is rigged in this country. Considering you can't even get Medicare until 65, most work until 67 to receive higher social security payments. Guaranteed my healthcare payments are slot more than yours.
Be mad at the government and not us older people. Younger people want us to pay for them until 30, college and whatever and wonder why we can't retire. Ge-z, tired of this generation nonsense that were rich and just wasting our time at work to torture younger generations. Yes, that's why I'm still working! You got me! My whole goal is to make your life miserable and keep you from moving up. So worth 50hrs s week. Give me a break!

Just curious but age does OP consider “young”?

Sir, you stood in a soccer field drinking beer once a week. Cool your jets.

My hot take has always been that GenXers are worse than Boomers. They have the same mindset as Boomers but even more misplaced confidence.

Ha! No boomer here....I'm GenX ...... we enjoy kicking insecure butts into corporate failure.....this Nike lacks talent- it's not misidentified, it's simply not there.

Hey old man/lady! Why are you so greedy? You would have made millions and still want to work here? Give some chance to the youngsters and enjoy your post retirement life.
