Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Exhausted

I am super exhausted from work... During the past 3 months, our team has lost 5 head counts and my wokr load has been tripled. I have a manager who seems to be busy as well but somehow he is always in my face micro managing everything... I do love working with 90% of the team members but just walking into work everyday to a huge work load, a micro manager and fear of layoff has taken a toll on me...... If you are in a management role, please please please just pay attention how your behavior at work is affecting the mental health of those around you and working with you....

Only benefit to clueless directors is they’re easy to power bottom. You’ll still have to bend over and take the invalid criticism but if you play your mouth right you can at least drive the ship in the right direction.

Sounds like most Managers or Directors at Nike that have been around because of who they know and not what they know. Their only skills are to micromanage and take credit for other people’s work.

@pbb+1rR6VguY OP here... Yes my manager often takes credit from what I do and he treats my male colleagues very well.. At this point I am so exhausted I do not care he takes credit. I just want him out of my face..... He can have all the credit... He has a very different background yet gets involve in all my projects solely to either take my work as his or oppose my opinion. He usually starts with " I do not have much info but a quick Google search says::::"

My Director is in "push, push" mode and she is making it so hard. She nitpicks everything normally, and during all this, she has been so much worse. She thinks she is a great manager yet she steals work, takes credit, and doesn't let me leverage my expertise. I feel you right now. It's too much in top of the stressful environment. If I survive this round, I'm out. She can rely on my male counterpart whom she treats totally differently and way better than she treats me.

I wish it was as simple as saying “hang in there”… but of course, it’s not. I’m sorry things are so hard for you, for any of us. Not sure how that’s going to change tbh.
