I would imagine Nike has many employees who doodle while on calls or just to relief stress. Do they ever have a challenge for designers-to-be?

True innovation requires support from the ELT when it comes to risk.

Dreaming up a sketch is step 0 of a multi-year process. You have to help bring the shoe into reality, which involves many rounds with factories & their own internal processes.
A chunk of that work depends on having existing relationships and an understanding of how other companies (and our own) work.

I volunteer to redesign the ELT.
Just a terrific idea. Why hasn’t anyone ever recommended this before? Maybe open it up to the general public too? And students while we are at it. To heck with patents, intellectual property, professional product designers, etc. Let’s take one of the most iconic brands in the world and have Mikey in admin services submit a design for the next generation of AF shoes. Or Julie in accounting submit her strat plan for next years ad campaign. Fantastic. It’s money-saving, morale-building and just a great business move. JD is on it.
