I have only heard about layoffs on Thursdays with a meeting called the night before or the day that it happens? Anyone heard or experienced anything different?

Take all thurdays off and you will never be let go!
It rarely happens outside of a Thursday, but not completely unknown, especially in a rebadge situation.
