Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

The layoffs over the last four years scream "lousy CEO!"

He seems incapable of managing or forecasting expenses. He should be hiding in shame instead of proudly boasting his "cost-handling capabilities." All he achieved is wrack productivity, quality, and everyone's mood, not to mention that he even hurt the bottom line in the long run. How on earth does this clown still have any Wall Street credibility? It's beyond me.

He doesn’t have any credibility with Wall
street. That’s why the stock is 94.

His early cost cuts are finally showing their real expense.

You don’t save money outsourcing creative & collaborative work overseas (like product design & software engineering). Maybe a bit up front but eventually the doers leave and you’re left with an incapable and unmotivated workforce.

But that’s entirely by design. Consultants love giving the first hit for free (and our CEO is a consultant, why do you think we’re now spending so much on his ex girlfriend ServiceNow), then promising to fix the problems they caused as long as you pay an ever increasing bill.

We’re at an inflection point. Are there enough brains left in the company that can dig us out of this hole? I’m not even sure our ELT is ready to kick the contractor addiction yet.
