Quick Google Search yields: How do I know if I was part of a “mass layoff?” A mass layoff occurs under the WARN Act when:

  • At least 50 employees are laid off during a 30-day period, if the laid-off employees made up at least one third of the workforce;
  • 500 employees are laid off during a 30-day period, no matter how large the workforce.
  • An entire work site is closed down and at least 50 employees are laid off during a 30-day period.

@Frenchie baguette - I blame your overlords, PSA and mainly this french "presence" that has ruined Chrysler. You really think we had a choice to conduct business after the merger? Things were relatively fine with FCA, but I do say that your masters ki-led off SRT which is a no-no. You may not like our cars nor do you have to appreciate them but you don't pull the plug just because it doesn't fit the companies portfolio. Last I checked, here in 'merica that is, no one wants a sh-t a-s peugeot POS. It's v8 or go home bud
So yea, I kindly ask that you and your frenchie colleagues quit with the sh-t posting and that you're the root cause of everything.
Sorry but not sorry

Under WARN notice, its is required for the employer to inform about mass layoffs, I wonder why this was not reflected in WARN Mi website!

Feel bad for those involved. Was a fun place to work when I was an engineer for Jeep @ JTE, the old AMC building in Detroit. Corporate moral was never the same once Daimler acquired them and has since been under foreign and constant ownership changing, that is when I voluntarily left. Have been waiting for them to sell the Jeep name and can the rest. Can happen at anytime, and that is probably how it will ultimately end at some point. Chinese Jeeps.

At the same time, also seeing corporations showing senior (expensive) employees the door across the board in automotive. Of course they never say that is what they are doing, but visual observation says otherwise. Easy for companies to play the game and lay it out so it does not seem so. Put people in departments, then close the department and say they discontinued that job. Sprinkle in a few low performing younger folks, and done.

The automotive “free market” roller coaster continues….hope all that received bad news find more $ elsewhere. It can happen to anybody at anytime here in the US. Yes, white collar should organize.

It's interesting to read you. I am a French person from Stellantis and we, French, have nothing against the Americans. Especially since we have the same feelings as you and many of those in charge are American... Look at the ENG organization chart, there aren't many French people (without TAVARES). Unfortunately Americans are easier to fire, and the big bosses are all the same. Money.

As per Yves Bonnefont's most recent email "After years of significant investments in transformation, the auto sector is encountering unprecedented uncertainties and hightened competitive pressures. We anticipate 2024 to be a turbulent year with even more complexities for our industry." --- in other words there will be more layoffs in 2024

I shoulda joined the Union. We have no one to back us up. I agree, jobs ARE being sent elsewhere. In the near future, the PG folks will get the bad news too.

First, to the person who said, Bidenomics, get a life. Perhaps you said wake up and understand the start of this mess was done by Mike Manley. Second, no SBU have been laid off. If SBU does get laid off, they collect 95% of their pay. After 52 weeks, they can retire with $50K per the new UAW Agreement. This mess is nothing more than the new management erasing the North American Design/Engineering. All work is being shipped to BCC countries (Best Cost Country). Products will suffer greatly. The French are ruthless and only care about saving money. All North American employees are at risk. If the company wants to layoff SBU, they will provide notice to the UAW Locals as per the agreement. This has not happened....yet! In summary, the French are ruthless and are determined to erase the North American footprint. Yet, isn't NA the cash cow?

6 out of 8 DAQ Engineers were in the 8:00 meeting. The supervisor & one other engineer were not in the meeting. We work with the SBU folks in the lab. So are they getting laid off too?? If we are gone, their jobs are gone as well.

Even the manager I am pressing charges against got terminated.
But I pressed charges against his manager too.

Only in a situation like this, a charged manager and employee are on the same boat.

To all affected, there is light at the end of the tunnel and yes the grass is greener on the other side. Having just been laid off myself from another OEM, it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Yes it sux for a while but it all wears off and there are bigger and better things to look forward to rather than feeling deserted by an organization that does not care about you. Heads up and keep pushing forward.

I love it. I was hired in at the beginning of March this year and received a decent sign on bonus. I had barely done anything work wise, got booted this morning, leaving with a small severance and start a new job (non auto) on Monday for more $$$ than I was making at Stellantis.

50% of my team within PCAL (propulsion systems calibration)... Which is insanity given that we are already understaffed and behind on a lot of projects

Yep, happening right now. All from engineering, all US based and only replacements MUST be hired from Brazil, Mexico or India. NO US citizens will be considered.

Did anyone else feel like everyone leading the survivor meetings were reading off a script? Whatever happened to the old days where they had the respect to tell you to your face? Maybe because the French would surrender if people pushed back?
