Would like to hear from those that are over 50 with 10 plus years of tenure. Do you feel the sentiment towards those with knowledge and tenure has changed? What about your performance reviews? Are you getting decent raises for producing and going above and beyond? Those that were offered early retirement- if you declined, do you feel you are being picked at so you leave on your own accord? Do you feel you’re being targeted for a RIF? How do you feel about securing internal opportunities? I believe that Humana is playing roulette and will ultimately face the consequences of their actions.

@4vur+1rEtAKou- You’re making assumptions here that a 30 year old can do it better and with less complaining. Sad story is you can’t get that kind of experience needed to excel overnight, and most of the next generation are assertive and vocal and are quietly quitting because they feel used, abused and underpaid, so the future of corporate America is gonna get interesting.

Yes. You might know why Betty created two divisions instead of three in 2001 but that’s not really useful to me. What’s useful is if someone can do your job better and faster and cheaper and les complaining with only 15 days vacation vs your 25 days off.
Sorry it’s how I see it. When I’m 56 a 30 yo will say the same to me and I won’t feel bad.
Offering early retirement is a good way to reduce staff who may be considering going anyway. As an employer is is a good practice to offer early retirement. Why wouldn't you do that rather than RIF people who want to stay on? The more associates that accept an early retirement deal means fewer associates will need to be RIFd. I stayed through 2 early retirements/RIFS during my 16 years @ H and just accepted the last early retirement deal as I reached 65 last year and was ready for it.
Tenured: the act, right, manner, or term of holding something (such as a landed property, a position, or an office). Meaning those people that have been here ten plus years. Did not imply no one can be fired but it seems that is the case for our upper leaders.
What does "tenure" mean outside the context of a public teaching job? Does Humana have "tenured" positions?
It’s all about the money, money, money! 🎵🎵🎵
Pretty simple, Humana is trying really hard to push those over 50 out. Early retirement offering was just the beginning. Those that were smart, took the package. They know what’s coming. Things aren’t going to get any better for those approaching 60 plus. Doesn’t matter how phenomenal your performance is, you aren’t going to get the raises, awards, promotions and bonuses you deserve because they don’t value you. Humana is all about cheap, quick and easy, so transferring isn’t an option either otherwise there would be absolutely no need to post any jobs outside of Humana. Good luck to those that are trying to stay until they actually want to retire. You’re fighting a losing battle.
In my opinion offering early retirement sends a message of not being needed or valued . We are all adults and are perfectly able to decide when and if we want to retire .I cant see how the over 55 and over cant be concerned over layoffs .It's a cruel ,anxiety causing tatic
