If laid off, don’t be afraid to hop on a contract job. It’s double income for a short amount of time until you find your footing or the right job.
I always see people saying “I wouldn’t swoop that low!” Well you just got laid off, future employers are going to discount you because they know you have nothing lined up, you have to work hard to get back to the top.
May 31st. Repeat cycle in next 3 years.
I agree, with @erf, get your resume together. I am 6 months away from retirement. I want to be let go.
Every day is another day of pay. Personally that attitude makes the wait more tolerable. I’m about 18 months from retirement. If you aren’t that close get your sh-t together and prepare that resume and use the severance/unemployment to get you to your next job. Also be prepared to work with your creditors as that will buy you more time hopefully. Good Luck All.
