Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Work from home! Oh, and you or a teammate might get let go.

I know this site is about layoffs, and that fo-e sure is the worst that Nike is doing. However, I also find it really annoying that corporate Nike tells us in January you must come to office M-TH. Now, with layoffs happening they're like work from home next week. It's all about what's convenient for them. It's like you need to be flexible for us but we don't care whether it works for you or your household.

The last time our side had layoffs we were in office. The effects of the layoffs resulted in some people outright sobbing in the workplace. This outward display of emotion severely affected a lot of the people that had to remain at work and still had to (or pretend to) get things done. I'm pretty sure the WFH is to reduce impacts to productivity that was caused the last time.

This is so messed up, this is tyrannical. Are they worried we might unionize or come together to empathize for teammates who might be impacted? This is def to stifle information from being spread quickly and ideas being shared. Convenient for when they want us to be in office and then when they don't. Nike is not gonna recover from this. I'm an ETW, I know I won't be impacted at least until May, but I don't think I wanna keep working for these leaders.

It’s only when it works to their advantage, and when it does we just get the shaft.

WFH so you can have your feelings at home and we don't have to see people upset

think of the people who moved near WHQ on high rents and long term lease for the sake of that 4:1 move

4:1 fuels attrition (they want people to leave without paying severance) and tax accountability

dont love your company... love your job and what you like to do...as simple as that... policies are for some ones benefit.
