Thread regarding Blackbaud Inc. layoffs

The CEO was arrested on a DUI last night

Two days after the bad news from the earnings call
After the stock dropped 12%
Our projects are all a complete mess and everyone is spread thin.
Whatcha think is coming next?

Yeah. Hold on to your hats.

Time stamps don’t lie Mike! You said you were “leaving a family dinner.” That’s what your “transparent” email said. Dash cam says nearly 7am! What were you doing out all night? Who were you with? C’mon Mike. Time to just come clean or better yet, do the company a huge favor and walk! https://youtu.be/fSWw8IPq5Gk?si=FNoLPyaEze5f8qVI

Employee Engagement Survey coming out on 3/12! Can’t wait to see how they sugarcoat it this year. All those gains we “made” since last year’s survey was all pulled back down by one drunk driver in my book. It amazes me that we ALL know the leadership section scores rock bottom yet HR and ELT keeps thinking they can fix it by addressing other things. HEY LEADERSHIP… WE HAVE TOLD YOU FOR YEARS IT Y-O-U THAT WE HAVE ZERO FAITH IN AND UNTIL YOU LEAVE OR ARE REPLACED THAT PART OF THE ENGAGEMENT SURVEY WILL NEVER IMPROVE!

Bottom line it’s time for Mike to retire. Then shareholders and employees take him to court he destroyed this company. The only people that like him is the people he brought in to get rich. Share holders need to talk to us the employees we know the truth. Hope the press runs the true story since they talked to us. Let’s get him out and rebuild. Read below shareholder or wait the news about to share our stories.

If you think about it, changes should have been made a few years ago. It’s a shame that based on the C-Suites decision Blackbaud is in this position, but there are no consequences.

Need new leadership and ones not looking to line their pockets. Bring in young blood that wants to make a difference and get back to company roots. Hope the major networks jump all over this dui and the hack. Still nothing done the board focus is stock price. Why isn’t anyone at that level buying stock. Why? All about taking for themselves. Mike needs to retire and live one Florida. He can play shuffle board he is good at shuffle. Wake up board but wait Mike a vice chair maybe the SEC can get him out of chair. One can hope.

Seriously a stock buy-back? Obviously the ELT and board are getting concerned about the shares out there that Clearlake can sn---h up. At what point does their shares get them a seat at the table to make decisions? This leadership is afraid to find out because it will mess up their amazing setup. Hey Blackbaud leaders… why not actually innovate and fix the broken stuff and start leading innovation instead of constantly being years behind our competitors? Why anyone other than staff would want this stock I have no idea. They don’t pay dividends. It’s all “magic money” they play with and hold employees down with!

Clearlake if you read this… PLEASE BUY THIS COMPANY AND MAKE IT WHAT IT HAS THE TRUE POTENTIAL TO BE! The best people humanity has created work at Blackbaud (maybe omit much of ELT) and we have amazing ideas that have fallen on deaf ears for over a decade! Blackbaud’s motto should be, “just keep it afloat.” That’s all this ELT and board has done. Blackbaud needs real vision and real leadership and no more of this “oh cr-p look what [insert competitor name here] has done!” (Which is really just something our clients have been asking Blackbaud to do for many years) The difference?…. Our competitors listen to their clients!

He sold 1.4 mil of Terradata data stock he is chair of that company also. Come on where is our board maybe the media will listen to all of us this guy must go. Maybe time for chairman to. This was a great company non profit now it’s a rich persons playground to make money off our backs then you dump us. I sent the link to a few media outlets to investigate since our board asleep at the wheel. Maybe he is waiting for a great offer above 70 dollars and sell us. If that’s what it takes to dump this guy then do it.

Mike packed the board with his friends soon after becoming CEO. There’s no one to hold him accountable by design. He would skip customer events at bbcon when he was going to face unhappy customers He just wouldn't show. He is not going to man up now and admit he made a mistake. It’s not his nature. His time to be an effective leader is long gone, but no one wants to give up power. Too much ego and never enough monet.

Everybody stay off the road after 1:30 am not safe with Mike the drunk on road. He must have a virtual family no comments from family backing up his story. Wonder if his girl friend had a Mercedes too. She should upgrade after he cashed in over a mil in stock. We buy stock he sells it. He knows it will be worthless after they find out what’s really going on. Drunk drivers need to get help!

This alone tells you that rules don’t apply to Mike G! From Blackbaud’s “code of conduct” document:

“Maintaining a Fair and Healthy Work Environment

  1. Compliance with Laws, Rules and Regulations

Obeying the law, both in letter and in spirit, is the foundation on which the Company’s ethical standards are built. All Associates must respect and obey the laws of the cities, states, countries and
other jurisdictions in which we operate, including applicable laws in all countries to which Associates may travel or otherwise do business on behalf of the Company. The fact that, in some instances, certain laws may not be enforced, or a violation of certain laws may not be publicly criticized in a
foreign jurisdiction is not an excuse for noncompliance. Note also that many U.S. laws, rules and regulations extend to the Company’s activities outside the U.S. Although not all “Associates are expected to know the details of these laws, it is important to know enough to determine when to seek advice from supervisors, managers or other appropriate personnel.”

Either this doesn’t apply to Mike G or someone in legal really didn’t believe what they wrote. And they expect us to all sign that we understand and acknowledge this “code.” Do we really think Mike G read and signed it?

You cannot make this up! Blackbaud sent out notice of our annual “code of conduct” mandatory training and I just laughed, sighed and did a facepalm reading the very first sentence…

"At Blackbaud, one of our corporate values is always aiming higher and that includes adhering to the highest standards of ethical behavior and business conduct."

They really needed to put an asterisk with a note, “only if you’re not the CEO.”

The real sad part is the chairman hasn’t got in front of this and the ftc hack. Mike will ride this through 2025 when his contract is up and sail off into the sunset leaving company in a mess. You can see the chairman will do the same. They must be in this together milk the company dry and run. Even if they dump them now you will have to pay these clowns until end of 2025. The big hope is he will end up in rehab classes and take a leave of absence.

They real need to address a succession plan. After FTC finding leadership at fault and this DUI they have to move on this. At least start to look for the next leader. Maybe we all need to write the SEC and share our thoughts. Someone wrote the news they will be all over this. Our products and support a hot mess also. Wake up board of directors! We have a cyber lead from United Airlines on board. What’s going on with FTC cyber still a mess.

Smoke and mirrors sad!

? Where is the chairman? They need to review this and get to the bottom of all these problems. Sounds like we need a new leader. Mike needs the time to get his life in order. He is on other boards anyway. Wonder what other boards think of this and know how he destroyed our company.

Based on what’s being said maybe the SEC needs to review this if board won’t take action. Most people say the same. One week and nothing from Chairman. Come on suspend him pending review at a min. He needs time to get with his lawyers and come up with defense. This is all over social media come on chairman say something please.

I’m with the comments here. I will NOT be attending the all-hands on Wednesday! Drunk driving isn’t just an “oops!” (In the voice of Eeyore the donkey) thing. Many of us have personally had a drunk driver turn our worlds upside down. The fact he didn’t blow shows he knew he would fail and I don’t care what his fancy lawyers whittle it down to, he’s a drunk driving offender and needs to learn that his actions have consequences. Something the board should already know based on how poor Blackbaud’s “innovation” has been (btw for outsiders Blackbaud doesn’t innovate, we buy others who do and twist their hard work into our portfolio and take all the credit). But yeah, I hope others will walkout or not attend the all-hands. Even better, login but as soon as he starts, we all disconnect! You know… empower good!

He is 63 worth almost 100 m and greedy I hope the police don’t back down. Not taking sobriety test is a tell tail he is hiding something. We would have allot more respect for the man if he said look I made a mistake I am sorry. He also could have said he won’t drink and drive again. No he hides and says he is going to fight it. Mike be a big man and say look I made a mistake it won’t happen again. Bottom line you were drinking and driving own up to this. He is lucky he didn’t hit anyone. Thank god the police stopped him before he did. The employees have lost respect for him. Where is the chairman on this? Chairman suspend this guy and step up and take control or we will all write the SEC let’s get a petition going. Chairman he also is not a good leader everything is falling apart..

Dont let the shares sale fool you. Many c level sold the same day just google i soder trading. You will see the shares in and shares out. Their grants come in on or about that day. They likely have an auto sale order in the accounts on the day they get the next batch.

Putting aside the poor decision making it obviously shows and the danger he put others in by driving intoxicated, he's a very wealthy guy. He'll spend thousands on representation that normal people wouldn't have access to and that will in all likelihood make it go away from a legal perspective. Already saw the post and courier article talking about him fighting it. Once that's done the board won't care. So any hope this results in a well overdue leadership change is an exercise in futility. Sad to say.

Mike is going to get off with not even a stern talking to. Meanwhile you can bet if one of us Blackbaud peasants got a DUI or even a PI while at bbcon and some clients saw it or heard about it, our rears would be canned before the conference ended! No castle whiter or brighter in Charleston than the Blackbaud castle!

It’s rich that Mike G tells staff how to handle any media inquiries, like “yeah Mike, we know what we’re supposed to do in response to more leadership sc--w ups!” But seriously! Not even an apology for anything uncomfortable or anything this may have caused in our work at Blackbaud? It’s like his email was written by a Trump lawyer.

Well in fairness, its still in the courts so he doesn't want to say anything that could hurt him in court. I do feel though that they will try to make this go away like nothing happened. New leadership is needed from the top down, but will not happen.
