Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Did we really get to this point??

“Compounding the fear of being laid off is the fact that more than half the respondents said they have only three months or less of emergency savings to get them through a period when they’re out of a job: 18% said they have no emergency savings.

Respondents also revealed what measures they would be willing to take in order to not be laid off from their company.

  • 39% said they would be willing to switch roles to keep their jobs.
  • 39% also said they would be willing to switch teams.
  • 24% said they would be willing to return to the office and thus give up working from home.
  • 19% said they would be willing to take a pay cut.
  • 14% said they would be willing to relocate to another office.
  • 12% said they would be willing to give up paid time off.

Of those willing to take a pay cut, the average amount those polled would be willing to give up is 5% of their salary. However, one in 10 respondents said they would be willing to forgo 15% of their salary to keep their job.”

To the person working with mega size roaches. I called the health department at my location. Anonymously. It was a central office with only 7 people in it. Nasty

First thing I saw was “compounding “ the fear. That’s what this is all about. Fear for your job safety. No one cares if you do a good job! Just do what we say you 3rd grader. You can’t be trusted

I would give 10 percent of my pay if they world listen and realize you can’t get work done in an office without enough seats or equipment. Where there is constant noise and rude people who talk on a speaker phone all day every day. I would like to work somewhere that the roaches were not the size of my fingers. Next time perhaps they should think. Omg I am funny. That’s not going to happen. Why? They don’t care!!! Nor do I anymore. I’m joining the f it team

Most people at ATT and other companies would take up to a 20% pay cut to keep their job and health benefits for their family....they wouldn't like it but they would...

Don’t project your situation on others, there are a lot of reasons for people to be low on funds, as born out by the numbers. Personal and or family medical issues, other dependent’s care, natural disasters, etc..

If any T employees don’t have an emergency savings fund of at least 6 months, that is on them.
