Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Layoffs over?

Does anyone know if there will continue to be layoffs today? Also will they continue to next week, very uneasy feeling.

Per my bosses boss, if you are on H1B you should be safe from layoffs.

Our IT leader said in a Zoom meeting yesterday they will continue until financial targets are met. Get out now.

There will be more in a few weeks. I’m sure of it because I have to let a few more people go. It has nothing to do with a new CEO. That guys isn’t making enough to cause this. Humana’s profitability isn’t good enough to be sold right now

We were just informed that there will be no more layoffs for centerwell/corporate services, at least.

RIF decisions like this one don't happen in just a few days. You gotta assume the new CEO was already engaged MONTHS ago.

There are at three offices for executive leader (Louisville, DC, FL). Seems like a cost cutting opportunity.

Corporate jets. Cost cutting opportunity.

Tons of executive stock options given out in December.

Paying for two CEOs instead of just letting one go. Seems new guy was brought in just to come lay off people and setup for a merger.

They are choosing to gut employee benefits and lay off worker bees instead of cutting at the top. But we are all "family".

I don't understand why the kept BB on payroll then too.

It almost seems that moving employees to different insurance, HSA etc that they are setting up for a sale. We know Cigna talks fell through. Perhaps they need to carve insurance business separate from Centerwell in order to do a merger?

Pretty sure this is the beginning and not the end of RIF 2024. GOOGLE search the new CEO name and you'll find publicly available SEC filings listing his compensation, benefits, bonuses, and perqs. WOW!!!
