Most of the ppl in EDO that are in leadership positions have been laid off, and again hiring new ppl, it doesn’t make sense

BD had very little impact due to illness. It’s true she was the wrong choice but it is also true she didn’t move the needle. BBT was able to execute, and do it quickly, and the credit goes to the pre-BD leadership. Suntrust, on the other hand, was and is utterly incapable of execution.
B-Quack was horribly unqualified for her role. Proof lies in the dreadful and outdated systems she left us with. Just another small time cronies who hung around long enough to be promoted into a role she never deserved.
BBT sadly had a number if these types….
@dci+1qwLr6aQ True... I thought it was just a rumor that he was going to bring in his boys from WU. But then I looked up the people who he recently hired to fill the new leadership openings, and sure enough.
It's probably because they hired the new chief data officer who wants to bring his buddies over from WU
You expected Case and his team to deal with AI and Data? Hope you were not holding your breath or making vacation plans.
%20@tba+1qwLr6aQ - Spot on. I have always wondered if BCG recognized Kelly King’s weaknesses (low intellect and huge ego), and identified a big business opportunity.
You can learn a lot by stepping back and identifying who the winners were in a business catastrophe. In our case, I see everyone losing mightily (employees, stockholders, communities, etc.) except for a very select few. Kelly King, SunTrust Executives, and BCG.
the EDO folks that left were on the lower end of the spectrum, just middle managers with no vision waiting for the next industry article to drop for their "ideas".
@vwy+1qwLr6aQ What KK wanted to do came from some article he read, or some comment he heard or some presentation he saw at a "Mindset" retreat. Don't attribute it to any level of deep thought or planning. It was him using air to make words that analysts wanted to hear, so he could go do his Big Deal and finally out-do Allison. KK was really small man - don't give him any credit for big thinking.
Thought of the day: That being said, Truist is now being run by someone who was done out-thunk by KK. Sounds like a recipe for success.
@mbk+1qwLr6aQ For real — what happened to KK’s whole reason of “we have to do this merger to afford the tech and big data we need for the future.” Here we are three years later and the tech and data is complete p-o. Reporting su-ks. Systems su-k. Etc. I’m sure the ~analytics~ they’re basing rif’s on also su-ks. We cant even get maturity reports right ffs lol.
MONEY. New people won’t get paid as much. New people’s benefit costs will be lower. It is always about money. Always.
The promises of “big data” and “AI/ML/Analytics” never materialized. Back to the basics, which means a couple of nerds writing reports and doing data loads, delivering the same value without all of the bloviating. Meanwhile armies of hapless offshores twiddle their thumbs and pretend to be busy, hoping nobody will notice.
