Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Configure Digital?

Bank customer. We learned from our rep recently that Architect is now called Configure Digital, and Fiserv is going to be moving all banks over to this new platform? I am just hoping someone here might be brave enough to provide the inside scoop (anonymously of course)?

Is this a good platform? Do you have confidence that Fiserv has the ability and resources to support it? Or should we look elsewhere?

We really just want the best product for our customers. They are our neighbors and friends, and we don't want to see them go to other banks....

Fiserv saving money by consolidating online banking products. Right now plan is move banks to architect and moving architect to cloud. Configure is faster way to migrate customer by limiting configuration. Banks are unhappy because it is painful and no benefit them, only cost savings for fiserv. If Fiserv wants to move your bank, good time to leave

It’s renaming of Architect. If you aren’t in that platform yet, it will be new to you, albeit potentially frustrating as they are still adding functionality into that already exist in other platforms. And some of that functionality (ie customizations) will have to be done again (likely at cost to the customer if Fiserv hopes to make a profit).

The funny thing has been what others have reported is witnessing the merging of support teams that have no idea what most of these applications or clients do because they are all new. And it’s a new year so there’s bound to be new enterprise and cyber policies that folks will have to figure out

Ahhh...they keep changing the name because of the time it's taking to get something done. This has changed names several times over the years, none of which made it out of development. They keep changing the name to make it seem like it's something 'new' but it's really not. Just lipstick on a pig.

I'd go to RFP now. That platform is not a plug and play. You'll need new IT staff to run it. In its history, it never had a smooth implementation.

Abiliti was supposed to be the latest and greatest but we couldn't make it work. Now management is placing its hope in something new and it's still not ready.

If I were you, I would look at alternative cores and bank platforms.

Yeah, they just keep on abandoning the older products and always think starting over/new is better. In my experience they never do a good job of carrying forward functionality that took years to put into some of these products. Then they market the shiny new toy and once converted to it, reality sets in that its never better than the older product. Then they cycle begins again, they spend years getting the new product to do what the old one did. I've seen it over and over again, particularly when it comes to online banking products. It's my customers that suffer the repercussions.
Also, who the he-l thinks of these names? Architect, Abiliti, Digital XD, Configure Digital???? Seems they are getting progressively worse. Digital is older than most of us and is ironic that it's used to describe the most modern of the systems. Also, wouldn't everything be 'digital' at this point?

digital (adjective)
(of signals or data) expressed as series of the digits 0 and 1, typically represented by values of a physical quantity such as voltage or magnetic polarization. Often contrasted with analog
relating to, using, or storing data or information in the form of digital signals:
"digital TV" · "a digital recording"
involving or relating to the use of computer technology:
"the digital revolution"
(of a clock or watch) showing the time by means of displayed digits rather than hands or a pointer.
relating to a finger or fingers.

Digital XD has been in motion… it used to be called Abiliti. It’s the go forward digital strategy and has been for a few years.

It is funny to see the crowd of “experts” of all things Fiserv scream, “I’ve never heard of this, it sounds insane!” This has been part of the go-forward plan for months. It’s just part of the re-branding of everything so Fiserv isn’t constantly competing with itself in the banking realm. Also part of yet another attempt to get everything cohesive (remember Digital One, Digital Banking Platform, etc.).

This application itself isn’t anything to worry about as it is fundamentally the same application you already have. He-l, those previous attempts at cohesion should let you know how unlikely this actually fully happens. Worry about the consolidation of Support teams where all the experts are gone while everyone left is supposedly “trained” on applications they don’t know anything about and are left to flap in the wind when an issue comes up. That’s where your current and future problems are going to come from, not yet another in the cycle of cohesion attempts.

The sad part is that NO ONE is good at banking applications. If your customers go somewhere else, they are just going to find a different set of problems. Go ask Vystar’s customers how that went. The whole industry is just sad right now.

It isn’t new, it is the platform purchased from ACI in 2017. It’s just been given a new name.

Architect isn’t going anywhere. It’s just a rebrand as Create Digital. Configure Digital is the non-customizable one. Both fall under XD or Experience Digital.

They have a lot of product enhancement plans for the future with both of them… Grain of salt is/may be required with our CEO though.

This is hilarious. The Architect platform is a giant piece of cr-p and has almost zero internal development or support due to Very Little Franky's constant layoffs. I would be very worried if your banks are being told you will moved to this boat anchor product.

It has been announced at Forum and multiple meetings it’s the new digital XD and it has been built on the old architect platform. There are two flavors and out of the box -configure XD and customizable -configure Create.

Looks like it is the Finxact (now
a Fiserv company) product possibly being rebranded. Description for it is suspiciously identical to what you get on the Finxact sites Description. A card processing system.

I don't know what this is either but would suspect this may be outsourced. Fiserv is doing a LOT of this which might also explain why support folks don't know about it, IE their job is going away.

If you want the best for your customers, you should start shopping around for better solutions. There is no money/resources for future development if existing products, and the same goes for support. If you want a frustrating experience for both your institution and your customers, then stay with Fiserv. I doubt that's what you want though.
