Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Issue for those that took early retirement

I know this is for Layoffs yet unsure how to alert people.
For those that took for early retirement through Humana and your last day was yesterday. If you are 65 years, they have canceled your insurance. I am very hopeful. The issue will be resolved yet everyone seems to think it was someone else’s fault. What they do admit is if you were 65 years you are cancelled. If you can, please give a heads up to anyone of that age that you know took the retirement they should call check and make sure it gets reinstated as soon as possible. By whoever is going to do that, I’ve made lots of calls and it’s not done yet. Thanks.

Humana stopped certain coverage, maybe that was why….when they stopped individual and are only doing commercial. Didn’t that start 1/1?

So they canceled your insurance without notification? Was it deducted from your paycheck?

Not true you can delay your part B if you still have creditable coverage.

You are allowed to keep your group coverage after you turn 65 if you are eligible for it.

People on Medicare can and do keep commercial coverage which is their “supplement “ however Medicare is secondary payer in those cases. This is absolutely unacceptable that Humana canceled everyone’s insurance, even if it was a mistake!!

Apparently all those with early retirement have had their insurance cancelled. It will be fixed but be aware if you plan on using in next few days

I don’t believe you are allowed to continue commercial group coverage once you turn 65. You must apply for Medicare Part AB either 3 months before or 3 months after turning 65.
