Mostly I remember incompetence when I think about the management I encountered at Oracle. The biggest problem was that they just could not think anything out. They were always jumping to conclusions and so, they were easy to manipulate and sometimes fun to watch. They just screwed themselves over and they did that over and over and over. Couldn’t think their way out of a paper bag, seriously.

I hate it when there are layoff rumors. It’s like everyone loses their ethics and morality. Things quickly turn into The Hunger Games. Ultimately, if your number gets called and you’re laid off then just be at peace with it and move forward. Failure to plan is planning to fail.

How safe is cloud sales right now? Specifically, Bus Dev cloud sales.

We have no marketing group. Sales is toast.

Unfortunately it’s all down to who decides what is deadwood in an Org and it may be the role rather than the skills of the person that are deadwood. No doubt they assume that someone else can just pick up the slack as well as their existing workload. Nobody ever seems to think if they overload the employees the output quality may go down and expensive mistakes made.

Oracle has gotta cut the bloated middle management . I know a guy who’s been at Oracle for 26 years, he has had a Director title for year over an overlay team, and he manages just one employee. ONE!

My prediction? Oracle will continue to layoff ICs by the truckload but keep its good little loyal, useless managers.

I recommend all the redundant teams that chase fake regressions, productivity, performance and DevOps teams to be kept safe again.

If they were just eliminating deadwood, then they would replace the defective units, but as we all know, they simply make others take up the workload.

Layoffs are a retreat!

I heard it described as a "horizontal winnowing of the chaff". In other words, we're just eliminating deadwood.

Ok so then no biggie I guess.

If that is the case, then we should revive our hiring criteria. All that ‘deadwood’ was hired by both HR and managers. Their evaluation techniques must be way off if we have that much deadwood to layoff on a constant rate.

That or layoff the managers for failure to do their job.

Sounds like this round was a skim. Some in healthcare GBU and FAW and then sadly CX and the sales enablement groups were hit again… this last two have got to be down to bare bones at his point.

A ton of oracle mgmt should be cut. They are some of the lowest life form I’ve come in contact with. Some of the most downright most despicable human beings I worked in tech I crossed paths with at oracle. And a TON of people who could say things in emails or over text or phone but when confronted, cowered like children. I remember a few instances I had to put them on blast. They would sit there in silence like “did he just say what I thought he said”. As an American man, these people were just pathetic. Many still there. Legit some horrible horrible people. All searching for ways they could overpower people. Never ever helping people grow or develop. That’s the sad part, legit never helped anyone along in their careers. It’s sad that some ended up being parents. Gonna have some jacked up kids.

There are insane layers of oracle that could be laid off. There are so many that lean on the backs of hardworking people that should b let go. It’s not just managers but they know who they are.

Lay every manager off. You’ll save a ton and have happier employees. Oracle mgmt are so bad. Literally not needed except to approve vacation.

Heard your team is considered non-essential and that their last stack-rank put you right near the bottom. Might want to brush up your resume.
