Do managers already know who's going to be laid off?

These what about us posts are insane.
Literally no one knows.
Also having recently been re-orgd has zero impact. Some other teams were reorgd twice and then people were laid off. My guess is they will be re orged a few more times with a few mistakes in casualties along the way until they figure it out.
What about NSRL? We just got re org. Do we expect another re org?
What about global
Controlling ? We just went through cuts and reorg
As current VP
The cutting list is already made and the cuts will be at management levels too in addition to bad performers the high paying jobs will be eliminated too
Nothing can be done because train has left the station
Poor performers are definitely targeted first. It doesn’t mean that everyone that has been let go is a poor performer. They target poor performers and then many others get swept up due to other reasons.
They have to decide at least a month in advance. It takes HR a month to activate any changes in their systems and processes before the day they set up the 15 min meetings can occur.
Why is everyone saying this is a reason to get rid of poor performers when tons of people have been let go who seemed exceptional?
It’s such an arrogant take and disservice to anyone who contributed massively and was unfortunately in the wrong role.
Yes Santa keeps track of a naughty list. If you were on it, you should already know by now.
This will be a great opportunity to cull deadwood, unfortunately there will be some collateral damage as well. Managers/Directors/Sr Directors/VPs always have a list in their heads. Some of those lists lie in wait for years for opportunities like this. If you're a moocher or pi---d someone off who now has leverage over you; get packing.
@uvh … they work with HR, look for poor performance or people that are on PIP. If you’ve been around for a while, and been through a few of these, the decisions don’t always make sense. What’s been stated thus far, even in the earnings call, is that this will primarily effect “redundant” management layers… VP’s will at least have a slightly better idea how to handle that.
@cxx did you provide a list to your VP in the last few months?
Just because they provided a rank it doesn’t mean they know who is going to be laid off. I think that should be obvious.
Yah, the list has already been created … a couple months back for the most part. No need to kiss a-s or make amends with Senior Leadership you’ve pi---d off over the last year. Just keep being you, for better or worse.
How do VP's know which IC's to lay off? Directors/Managers would have provided ranking for their teams, I am sure.
Only the VP knows in my org.
Senior Director here. No knowledge of a list or any movement in our group, but we had two “org activations” with RIW in 1H. I’m hoping this means my team is shielded from the 2H cuts.
You do not get that list on this website! That is for sure!
Amd they are checking it twice.
Yes. I’d say they know 2- 3 Months in advance, minimum.
VPs do at least. Lower management probably not unless they have a good relationship with their bosses.
