Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Is Nike product still appealing to customers?

I worked at Nike for a few years and still hold my Nike stocks through ESPP and RSU grant. The working memory was pleasant until Nike Tech was full of contractors and outsource in India (before the crooked RAT time). I hold the stock because I thought at least the products were cool and modern. However, now I find even with 40% discount, I don't see Nike products cool anymore, just same old same old. For clothes, I now buy from Lululemon (check their stock price), for shoes, On from Swiss is pretty decent.

Is this just me feeling this way? Crooked Nike tech is a small issue compared with product creation and quality control.

I want to buy clothes for my girls but believe me, the Nike apparel for girls is like sl-t clothing but for fitness. There’s no way in he-l I’m going to pay top money to dress my girls like that.

Copy and paste shoes with different color ways. No innovation, sh---y sizing for both shoes and apparel, and no changes.

Nike is by far the number one brand in the US and Globally. Sure there are new brands attacking but there always are. Look at the piper sandler surveys about teen preferences in the apparel and footwear space.
The issue is that Nike is not growing at the rate they are expected to by the street therefore people panic.

I took my daughter shopping today. A pair or Nike shoes was marked $245! A pair of lululemon was $140! Nike store was empty and lululemon was just packed! We ended up buying none of them! Both are expensive for my household

No. Just ask consumer insights. Trend setters in younger generations think Nike is whack and there’s not much you can do to come back after that.

The adidas samba is everywhere. Go to any major fashion capital and just see - we lost our mojo.
