We have several layers of management that could be removed without anybody noticing. The problem is, when it comes to cuts, it's never the fat that gets removed. Oracle keeps removing the muscle, to the detriment of both the employees and the company. For once, I wish we could see the right people being shown the door.

Very well said. And I think, after being at other shops, there are places similar to Oracle. There are also horrible people that work at them. Believe me. I think that for Oracle, their HR seems to protect so many bad people. I can't lie. It would be so bad for so many if people still worked together in offices. I feel like the last 4-8 years have really made so many so angry.
If LE starts buying people cars and spending more time in CA then you know change is coming.
This time around they sacked VPs and Senior and regular Directors in CX.
They laid off people BETWEEN Christmas and new years? Has that ever been done before?
Only in a particular group as the entire group was sacked. In other groups its mostly ICs

What are the these fearless leaders doing most of the time, forwarding emails from upper management mostly?
Every manager in Oracle could be let go and the next day, things would be fine. i was there almost 20 years. The managers, directors, VP's, SVP's.....they do nothing and should all be let go. They are stealing.
We now have Managers in RE&F with no direct reports.. How is that even possible and normal? Who is running the show?
Big cuts needed for the stock to perform well in 2024. There is a lot of fat here.
In the old GBU I worked for, construction one, the managers did zero. They even got caught taking underlings work many times. There are still a ton of managers and directors there that are literally useless and coulnd't find jobs outside of the GBU. I came to the conclusion that the people that run the GBU's like two things, people who don't question authority and people with no morals. The managers, directors and SVP I worked for....they had zero morals and never questioned up the chain. Literally they are anti-American. They would stand by as consultants and PM's were harassed by customers. None of them ever stuck their neck out. I had to cut ties with a ton of people from my old GBU. The ironic thing, many of the lifers would later come to me and really sadly just say, "staying here was the biggest mistake of my life". I got out, but it came at a cost. If I ever saw any of the people who managed me or had impact on my career there face to face.....they would hear it. Oh, and HUGE cowards. HUGE. Like total wimps. This seems to be common at Oracle. I guess you let cr-ppy people hang around long enough, they feel like being a horrible person is the way to go. Ironically since much of the last 10 years at Oracle been over the web when you communicate, these "tough managers" can have some guts on camera....they wouldn't have that in front of your face. Like I said, cowards.
In support it’s mostly to the detriment of the customer’s, with what they are paying for support fees they should have nothing but rockstars working their SR’s. Nope instead they let the good ones leave for a salary that they refuse to give that person, and then they will turn around and hire some new person at that salary the rockstar left for. Brilliant management there, they teach those methods that at the Warton School of Management ? The ones making these id--tic decisions never get fired.
I see some managers with two direct reports. That has to be the easiest job on Earth. Your job is to babysit two people? Two people with 30+ years of work experience? Don’t make me laugh.
