Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Hopeful layoffs happen the first week of Jan.

Rip the bandaid off and get it over with … productivity will be sh-t till it’s over, not to mention watching the backstabbing and the constant speculation of who is going to be or who should be laid off because this reason or that.

More like dragging it out for the next 3 years. Good luck to you all, I’m not staying around to sit in anxiety. I started applying after the email JD sent. I won’t give 2wks either. They care so little about us and ruined our holidays. The grinch wears checks.

@mvh TA has already been hit but I’ve seen that often HR goes last. They have to fire everyone before they’re fired :)

Are we safe from layoffs in TA? Is there any job safety working in HR at all? I’m hanging on to a strand of hope.

@kkf+1qhIrF6O It is already dragging out. A bu ch of people in ND were let go 2 weeks before Thansgiving. 20% of the org. It seems it will happen in little waves.

I doubt they’ll be filing WARN. They are going to drag it out in smaller batches throughout Jan and Feb.

I don’t have any current info but I do know from a highly credible source that senior management is aware they botched the last layoff in multiple ways including by dragging it out so long. Maybe they’ll have learned and will do it sooner than later. I’m a little worried though that no WARN notice has appeared. That would either mean it’s fewer people, which I doubt, or that they really are going to again make it a multiple month ordeal. I’ve worked here a long time and never before have we had such tone deaf leadership that seems so divorced from average employees. It’s definitely not the same company I joined years ago.

No such luck. Will be a rolling layoff over the course of a few months.

Truthfully, I only came here to check out this forum after I heard about the $2B in cuts and got few messages from my few of my Nike friends. I left on my own accord two years ago for many reasons one being is the deteriorating culture, lack of real leadership, lack of innovation, and uncertainty of employment. Not here to gloat or say "I told you so." Instead, I am here to simply say that while change in during these times may be scary, it can also lead to better you after Nike. Keep your head held up high and start the search for something better. Take care, everyone.
