OK so I am not trying to be funny or sarcastic but I am a single dad and cannot just pack and leave Oregon because of custody issues. If l am laid off, how much I may be able to earn working for Uber? Do we have anyone here who had worked for Uber or Lyft?
Second question: if a department has done through layoffs in November and December, do they get another round again in Jan and Feb?

If the layoff were at your level there is a chance that they are done in your group. But you can never be sure.
Before Uber I think you want to look around for other jobs and you will have unemployment benefits for a while to keep you afloat.
Good luck.
@1wgs+1qfzkFq4 Jeez! Why so nasty? Remember you are an at-will employee too! Don't be so sure that it never happens to you! I don't think the OP meant it to be his career. He seems to be worried about his kids and how to provide for them. Get off your high horse please!
@1wgs - it’s a bad look talking down about how people make a living. “Driving a car for a career” is a respectable job. Shame on you.
I am sympathetic to your situation; however, I am not going to look up and answer this question FOR you. Look it up yourself! If you think this is the place to get that or similar information, maybe you SHOULD be driving a car for a career.
People have done calculations, and unless you can be among the top 5% of Uber/Lyft drivers, the hourly rate can be lower than minimum wage, once you take into account wear-and-tear on your car.
Other suggestions rather than being an Uber/Lyft driver is being a part-time nanny for a family or pet-walker (if you have experience with animals). These tend to be better pay than Uber/Lyft.
I wish you the best with what will come.
Uber is not sufficient. You are better off with etw route until you find a perm job.
