For others: people on h1b have 60 days to find a job after the last payroll - they have to leave the country if they don’t. The stay in this country is tied to our visa.
With severance, you technically don’t officially get terminated until a set date in the future. You after you have a conversation, you essentially have 60 days until you’re officially terminated. So you basically have 120 days.
Are you single? Female or male? Can you marry someone with GC or citizenship?
If that is not an option, do you have any option to quickly switch jobs? Can you file I-485?
