Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I am ready to leave

Whatever happens in the near future re: layoffs, I am ready to leave this place. I am overworked, constantly picking up work for people who left. Can’t remember the last time I was done for a day in less than 11 hours. I feel like I live here. And for what? I am not investing my time and effort into some future payoff. I’ll just be sacked at the end of it. This time, next time, soon in any case.

100% STOP doing that!!! Do your 8 and leave. This company (and most) don't care one iota about you or the extra work. You will never be rewarded for that and are giving up hours of your life for nothing.
A coworker used to tell me "know your boundaries and limits and enforce them" - and I honestly feel management respects you more when you do.
"Dont set yourself on fire to keep others warm"

The employee is not responsible for a company's decision to reduce the workforce (or replace with less than capable).

Given that premise, my productivity today is the direct result of the environment WF has created.

Add to that WF's awful career support and terrible incentives to work harder in difficult times, I choose to protect myself first.

When I see amazing coworkers get laid off, why should I sacrifice more for the company? Is WF going to reward for carrying additional weight?

It is insane how much of a top to bottom company this is. Everything flows one way, soft Communism. Peasants we are, peasants!

Naturally I should quit (but severance is just around the corner, maybe).

LOL, think this person is just trying to get others to leave so they don't get fired. Nice try

After they all left, the company will be all mean people like you. As matter of fact, considering the company’s future, you deserve to leave.

Then leave! What are you waiting for? Someone with your qualifications would have no trouble finding a top-flight job in either the food service or housekeeping industries.

What possible future payoff could be worth putting in more time at what sounds to be a terrible set of working conditions? Surely sounds like you have been beaten down into submission which is sadly the same situation in many corporate settings today. The "do more with less" approach is definitely taking it's toll on the U. S. workforce in so many harmful ways and it sounds like you are another victim.

Good luck to you!
