Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Outsourcing ramping up again

Just a few days ago some centers in the Philippines got notified about more new hire classes being needed at 3x the frequency. That's right 3 new classes starting each week March to July. What does this mean for internal agents?, SAs, Management, and L&D?? Is everything going to the philippines and India by the end of this year? Well everyone you've been advised, another round of layoffs are probably coming by end of May or sooner. Sad to see VZ just gutted, but this is crazy. VZ Management over the vendor partners will be gutted by end of year too. I saw postings for similar positions overseas locally. This is year 2 of a 3 year plan to save billions aka rif city.

Interesting to hear this since on the VBG side the Accenture folks in the Philippines' contract is not being renewed as they are replacing them with HCL folks. I'm not saying that this thread isn't true, but if it is it's not the Accenture people who support Verizon Business. The non-renewal of the contract and transfer to HCL is not rumor, it's discussed on the all-hands planning calls.

It was never on the roadmap to hire internally for CS this year so that makes sense. And that’s not even a huge number of classes from what I’ve seen in the past. That’s more like backfill from attrition numbers.

Sr leadership has been taking trips to India so it sounds about right.

HUGE push in Global Network Technology for offshoring REs and contractors right now. India primarily, but Ireland maybe. Never mind the issues we had just 2 years ago getting VDSI people to do anything productive and valuable. Fact is, it's all about reducing opex and capex with no consideration for the impact.

@oxh+1qZsA78s you mean like the regret they have over the IT managed services and everything else they've outsourced? ya right. Quality means nothing to the C-suite. It's all about the $.

I deal with these clowns every single day. There’s going to be a lot of regret because of this. Barely speak English, barely tell the truth, and have no idea what they are talking about.

Customer service, not sure on the other lines of business. I would assume the same but will look into it. Something big is about to go down in the coming months for sure. This is something I haven't seen an existing site do before. I think they are going to end internal and start moving all pso vendors into the Philippines and India. So no more usa based employees by end of year for most of l&d and call taking.

3 per WEEK?? Which lines of business and roles/job functions? New hire could be anywhere in the company. And L&D already gutted last week and told will be replaced with International employees, which have already started posted in both locations.
