It's a problem of motivation, all right? Now if I work my a-s off and Enbridge moves a few extra cubic meters of gas, I don't see another dime; so where's the motivation? And here's something else, Bob: I have eight different bosses right now.

It's the difference between extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. Some people are motivated by doing their work well. I'd be happy to fire three people for whom money is the motivator, and replace them with a single person with that inner drive. The difference is that stark.
