My manager told me if I wanted that VP promotion we had been talking about, I’d have to post my pronouns on email and zoom. I asked if it was mandatory, and was told, “it’s not mandatory, but if you want the promotion, you should do it”.
That’s a code of conduct violation right?

I know this happens personally experienced it we are a woke company!!
They send mixed messages. In one of my reviews, I was once told that I was there for my staff, making sure they have the exposure, tools and resources to succeed followed by I expected too much from them. When I asked for examples, all I heard was crickets and my review was changed. I was proud to have seen many members of my team move up into more responsible and prestigious positions. When I left the bank, I was happy to say that many of those who worked for me moved into VP or ED positions while one went on to be a MD at a competitor. I never asked someone to do more than me, but I did ask them to step up to the plate and lead.
Code of ethics is garbage. It goes the same exact HR team. Then you will be retaliated against. It happened to me, and then all of a sudden my position was eliminated. Good luck suing them. They hang your severence package over your head. If you want it, you have to sign a release form. And there isn't a chance in he-l that chase will employ you while you sue them.
People who say this story is fake and calling the original poster a troll are the ED’s working here. They read posts here too and like to protect themselves and troll us here
Actually, yes things like that go on here daily. If you don't believe it, then you must wfh and live in a bubble. I was told in order to be considered for leadership; I would need to join a BREG. And, when you do reach out to HR retaliation ensues. IT'S real folks.
go ask Ink...
I call BS on that. Fake story. There is no executive director stupid enough to get themselves in those situations.
Troll post
It absolutely happened. I submitted an anonymous complaint to HR the same day. I don’t want anyone to get wrecked over it, but now things are much worse. I feel like it’s punishment for not playing the game. It’s fcking miserable working for this tool.
I was told years ago that I could apply, but probably wouldn't get it bc I wasn't diverse enough, so I believe it
No way this actually happened
Today, in things that never happened. Unless your manager is a complete id--t who is willing to open the company up to litigation. Even if this was the "hidden" requirement, nobody, and I mean nobody would directly admit to it. This is just a troll trying to rile people up.
Those kind of “requirement” is absurd… how is that gonna prove your ability to be qualified as a VP? So I guess everyone putting their pronouns are now VP materials….also, I got denied a promotion because I was told I wasn’t in office full week so management “didn’t know me”. They really aren’t trying to come up with sound excuses anymore
