Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

30 or 60-day notice?

Nervous about upcoming RIFs next week in my department. Anyone know if Truist is giving a 30 or 60-day notice to impacted teammates?

Layoffs are happening in waves, so not sure if the Federal WARN Act applies here. I believe that applies only if there are 500 or more impacted employees.

Some of us have to stay to train the Accenture person who is replacing us. I think means work until May, then severance.

Truist has good people but no direction....ashame because they could be well positioned for 2025.....but alas...good luck.

They generally send you home day one. Pay you for the 30 days.

The WARN act requires 60 days of notice for a mass layoff or site closure. The rule is that if the 60days notice IS NOT given the company is required to pay 60 days in severance. Since Truist gives 8 weeks severance minimum they are in compliance with the WARN act

When I was RIF'd Jan 3rd, they scheduled a meeting that morning, told me, then basically said I can leave my laptop and badge. No warning. Last official day is 2/15.

Typically 4-5 weeks remaining on payroll plus 8 weeks severance. Source: got canned in wave 2

I have not heard anything and if they decide I would imagine it would be more than 500 all around the departments
