Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Can You Still Sleep?

Is anyone ever ready to get walked out? Some people might be happy to get laid off and paid a severance but for most I think it’s really stressful. What do you to cope?

I get stress relief by going down to the firing range to blow off some steam

Have not slept well in months. I love working here and the thought of leaving makes me feel ill.
I work hard and am good at my job. Honestly if my manager had a say in all of this I’d feel safe because I know I do a good job. The fact that it is being made above her head has me scared because someone who doesn’t know me at all is deciding whether I stay or go.

Just remember it’s not you, it’s them. The losers who through soul destroying pathetic levels of brown nosing, apple polishing sycophancy were promoted (think the poor empty suit DD ‘Operations VP’ at GD) to positions where they are incapable, the only way they can survive is to eliminate those that know anything. Like a third world country dictator they eliminate the aristocracy and academics to elevate themselves . So, if you are let go, lawyer up and F@ck Enbridge, and be happy you maintain your self respect. You are the lucky ones.

To thoes who foolishly supported DEI, how do you feel knowing you might have been let go, not because of your performance, but because you don't fit the DEI requirements?

You know who you are. You get what you deserve.

I’m fairly new to Enbridge and was blissfully unaware this could happen, and I did not hear rumours. I wish I had prepared more. This month I’ve had some financial trouble with some personal issues going on, and now my stress is now multiplied by 100. I don’t sleep, I refuse to drink because I’ll spiral. It’s hard times…

One of those situations where you say "It is what it is". I have no control of what they do but I do have control of what to do about it. It doesn't hurt to update your resume and LinkedIn and maybe start sending applications. Who knows? Maybe this is what some people needed to move on, start that business, make money out of a hobby/passion. Whatever it is, good luck!

A mix of determination, questionable strategy, and occasional moments of just staring blankly into space and my coffee consumption has officially reached superhero levels
