There was an FAQ that went out to supervisors that said “not to be shared.” One of the questions and answers was around when, it didn’t give a date, but did say a notice would go out to directors and they would then give their teams the option to work from home the next day, as it would be “the day”. It also said that if you are working from home and are being let go, that they (HR and some sort of supervision) via teams call. Access would be removed immediately, but they would give you the opportunity to come in the next day to pack up personal belongings and say goodbye to colleagues, but it also said they reserve the right to not allow you to collect you stuff in person. My guess, you go off the deep end, your stuff gets mailed to you.
My favorite FAQ item was the one about these reductions not being a result of TN75, but because out the challenging business climate. They’re trying so hard to not have TN75 be associated with layoffs like BOEF.
STIP is not a consideration here. At all. Everybody employed Jan 1 gets their full STIP no matter what, so it does not matter for timing. The earnings call doesn't matter. They've announced to industry and the media the quantity and the timing.
The only thing you can comfortably be sure of is that it will probably happen on a Wednesday. They've learned that much over time. It's the least likely day for sick time and SDOs.
There is so much skewed info on this forum. Why anyone would get worked up or believe anything said on there is beyond me. People saying “I bread this” or “I heard that”. Pfft. You don’t KNOW what is going to happen, so why bother. Just being a gardener. Planting your seeds and watching them grow. If you to know, then spill it. It’s anonymous. Oh wait, nothing confirmed……..Exactly.
It will happen on February 14. Happy Valentines day everyone!
Everyone will get an email the day before Judgement Day, they will give you a chance to WFH on Judgement Day. Watch out for the week of Feb 26th.
So it sounds like the mass email will come in a Monday. Then Tuesday will be when the employee gets notified by HR/People Leader and Wednesday the employee will get a chance to say goodbye and pick up their things and drop company vehicle if they have one.
This is sh---y anyway you look at it. Would it make sense for it to happen before Feb 9th (earnings/investors call) or after...?
Our Director told us it will be all on one day, with a heads up email the day before asking folks to work from home. And that impacted people can come gather their things the following day, so I think it will be a Tuesday or a Thursday so it’s a typical wfh day when they come in. Also mentioned it won’t impact STIP, so I think it will be before then and payout will just include it. 650 FTE exits, remaining people may be reassigned, and additional contingent positions let go - someone else’s Director told them 10% total, which would indicate about that many contingent as well? Not sure on total headcount these days. Last time they did the reassignment stuff it was pretty minimal, but it seems like this time it could be significant. So bloated with these fringe groups that no one knows what they do.
March 29th is Good Friday.
Our SVP told us in a conference call this week, it's all happening in one day, end of February. STIP is paid on the 28th, I predict the 29th will be the date.
Once again, record earnings. Now you all get sc--wed. Heads up news Monday and Tuesday. Safety is not needed if the company can save a dime and get the new regime there bonu$$$$$.
Ha clearly they will send the BU emails on the next few Mondays, all those of you who’ve been doing nothing and are scared can now stay home as on a Tuesday like you’ve been doing to save gas and get canned via Teams. How ironic that you’ll have to come into the office on a Wed to pick up your stuff. If everyone would appreciate their jobs and spend less then they make they wouldn’t be so nervous. This site is hilarious.
It won’t be the 28th or 29th which is Good Friday and a holiday. I tend to think it will be one of the next three Tuesday’s.
I’m feeling the notice email will come out Feb 28th, with the big day being Feb 29. Then Friday, a normal WFH for many, will be opportunity for people to come in and pack up their cube.
My guess is that the layoffs will continue all month and the ‘purge’ will be applicable to the remainder of the layoffs (so not near as many as 650) by the last week. Because they’re happening all month, no solid date has been provided to us, they don’t really know yet who will be outstanding. They can’t tell everyone Feb 29th for example when they have already started to eliminate.
Layoffs don’t happen on Fridays.
I think the Enbridge purge will take place on Friday, Feb 23rd. I am only speculating. But it makes sense in accordance with a pay week. Its just before the end of the month. And it will give them one week to catch any stragglers trying to hide with using time off before March 1st.
If I was a gambler. Thats my bet.
