Thread regarding UPS layoffs

Five days in the office

What's the point? I can understand why we might need layoffs. If the business is down and we realistically don't need as many people, I can understand that. It's tragic for those involved, but it makes sense. But why force people back to the office when there's zero need for it? It won't improve productivity, that's for sure. It can only lower it since morale is going to plummet after this. Why do this?

Covid allowed a lot of workers to work from home back in 2020 / 2021. It was not a thing before that happened. Now companies are trying to get back to workforce normalcy at some level.

More useable surveillance in office than remote.

Why not offer operations management employees a buyout? Why? Because they don't care about them.
UPS is hoping they quit or die, whichever comes 1st. There are still operations management employees over 55 that would at least want a buyout offer

I agree, but the real reason is to get those people to retire or quit. Most of not all of them are non operations management employees. Part of the ones that they are trying to eliminate. By having them come back to the office,. Now they must get dressed , use gas and can't be at home waiting for the Maytag Man
