Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

False job advertisements

Has anybody else who is looking to leave noticed that many of the same job advertisements keep popping up each month but they never respond to applications in any way? I've noticed this happening more frequently. It would be one thing if they were filled, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It's the same jobs being refreshed each month. I might be going crazy but if somebody else noticed this and it's really happening, why? What do they gain from this?

They do IRCs... Internal reference checks for former employees. Any lack of response may be down to your previous leader.

These layoffs are going to continue throughout the end of the year. I would not look for another position internally.

I was not a RIF but was not deemed as suited for my ‘title’ … applied for 35 internal positions that I was fully qualified for …. Still waiting to hear back from 20 of them …. 2 years later.

Typical inhumana! Can’t tell you how many exceptional employees I know that have faced rejection, time and time again. Especially those over 50. Literally those impacted have applied for 20 plus jobs without so much as a screening interview. Leaders pretty much know who they want to move into these positions when they post them. Young and cheap is the name of the game.

What I've seen is an uptick of hiring "externally", instead of hiring from within. This is not new, and I have noticed this trend more and more as of the end of 2021. I applied for a position even as far back as 2020 just as COVID was ramping up & last minute, the hiring manager's "manager" changed up the job description and hired externally. A few others I know both impacted & not have noticed this as well. Most that have gone through this sort of experience have told me that they are devastated, defeated, & deflated from multiple attempts to find something else internally. Is there another motive behind this? It certainly does not help motivation for folks that have been impacted. :/

I’ve noticed that too! I was impacted by the RIF and my last day is in March. I have applied to dozens of internal job positions at Humana, and I reach out directly to the Hiring Manager explaining that I was impacted and that I would love to be considered for an interview. I have updated my Workday, my resume is relevant and updated, and I literally receive denial emails days later, with no chance to complete the assessment or even an introductory interview with the Recruiter. Associates who have been impacted by an RIF are supposed to be prioritized and at least considered for an interview, but it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to stay at Humana like I have hoped. I’m devastated and defeated. I don’t want to leave.
