The head of the NAACP makes almost $500k per year and has a $4M net worth, so it ain't just "capitalism" that's being propped up.
In other news, I'll go ahead and keep my freedom of speech, but thanks for the attempted suppression anyway.
African American here, and warning you all not to speak on the deprivation of a culture and community of people you know nothing about than you briefly read in grade school. Majority of other races have parents or grandparents who are much better financial positions to get their children in positions to obtain better education and get higher salaries. Don’t see how there can be any hate toward this gesture if it did not directly come out of your pocket. A bunch of over paid entitled white collar workers who think they are making a difference in the world but are nothing more than a machine pushing capitalism and making the rich richer. Do your job get your check and mind your business.
Many are just told they can’t ride out of poverty from an early age so if they aren’t big time self-starters, the discouragement will get to them.
African American here…the majority of us teach our children that we must work twice as hard and remain diligent so that you can reach your greatest potential. Once you make it, because you are destined for greatness, don’t allow the ignorance from those that think your undeserving affect your integrity.
Scharf is an altruistic and self-sacrificing man.
He was willing to sacrifice the jobs of 500 employees in order to make this benevolent gift.
So beautiful.
Well, the thing is, …. Is how that was meant to read.
Well, the thing, a bunch of African-Americans do, and all are capable. Many are just told they can’t ride out of poverty from an early age so if they aren’t big time self-starters, the discouragement will get to them.
I definitely don’t think these grants are the answer, but I’m not educated enough on where this money actually goes to know for sure.
After several decades now, will the recipients ever be able to stand on their own two feet?
Or will they forever require every other culture in our society to constantly prop them up?
