"That job security language is a joke. Everyone I know that went through that process was offered a job in Dallas."
Lol. The people I know in Ohio were surplussed in August. They're still doing the same job from the same location until the company offers them something close. Love our Union contract.
That job security language is a joke. Everyone I know that went through that process was offered a job in Dallas.
"T union employees will soon see that their dues effectively offers zero job security. We will all say told you so, 2024 is going to be ugly for the union…"
Our contract has multiple years left on it. Contract job security language isn't changing anytime soon. The facts don't match your feelings.
T union employees will soon see that their dues effectively offers zero job security. We will all say told you so, 2024 is going to be ugly for the union…
Say that to all the “represented” call center reps in the US whose jobs were taken away due to “technological inefficiency,” yet the union just collected a portion of their last paychecks as they got shoved out the door.
From NYTs article on UPS layoffs..."The positions that would be eliminated this year are not union jobs, according to the Teamsters. The layoffs will instead affect managerial staff".... Great news.
Do you mean where you PAY dues and get NO representation?
No thank you
OP, this has to be a joke. UPS just announced layoffs impacting union. Auto manuf are idling plants which impacts UAW. CWA has lot membership over the years ... a LOT. CWA members have been told more than a few time over the years to move with their jobs or lose them. So exactly how is joining a union going to help?
OP-
Because the union does not have surpluses or forced job relocations (follow the work to keep your job).
- Yeah right!
Thanks, but no thanks.
