I'm worried they might leave our group for tomorrow. I'd truly hate that. I'd rather know right away than have to spend a sleepless night worrying about what will happen tomorrow. Even if I'm among those who are affected, I'd much rather learn about it today.

Unless you are over 50 and closing in at the endo of your working career, have a family with all the stuff that comes with that. It is a huge worry PayPal has mad almost 4 billion in profit in the last 3 quarters.2500 people at a paltry 50k per year is only 125 million. There is enough money to keep them employed. Vanguard owns 113 million shares they are the largest shareholder they wont even make 113 million dollars by the cuts. ther eis no reason to make the cuts.

All articles I have read state it is research and development and engineering. This is not surprising given that they want to change directions and focus on getting the info we have working correctly. Hopefully there will not be any other major one for a good while. This comes with the territory of getting a new CEO when the other one left a mess.
