Most companies are required by law to file a WARN notice when employees are being laid off and it's material in nature - funny how SS&C doesn't really seem to do this process... inquiring legal minds want to know...

Dear D-mb:
The federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act (or Act) is enforced by private legal action brought in the U.S. District Court for any district in which the violation is alleged to have occurred or in which the employer transacts business. Any dispute regarding the interpretation of the WARN Act including a closing or layoff’s foreseeability will be determined on a case-by-case basis in the particular court proceeding. The role of the U.S. Department of Labor (Department) is limited to providing guidance and information about the WARN Act; such guidance is not binding on courts and does not replace the advice of an attorney. Some States have their own
laws addressing layoffs and worksite closures. Information on State notice requirements can be obtained by contacting the applicable state dislocated worker unit.

No company is required to warn you.. might depend on the reason.. if it’s a company shutdown they may need to give notice and have sheriff presence
SS&C Skirts local WARN notice requirements by laying off small amounts of employees in each location time and time again, while exporting jobs to India, death by 1000 papercuts.
