AIP looks about 25% of last years

The company announced that we made 30% of the corporate multiplier last year. I took a look at my old email history and we made 130% that year. So, simple math, you'll likely see 25% of the dollars you saw for AIP 2022/2023.

Disappointing, but not a deal breaker for me.

At this point, I’m grateful I have a job, and any AIP is better than no AIP. The longer I’m not RIFd, the more potential weeks of severance I get when I am RIFd. And any AIP, even if it’s taxed at a higher bracket, at least it’s money to pay down a bill or two. Things look pretty dismal at this point.

@ 1hjb+1qFPp5Lb- I have never received less than an 100% individual multiplier. In fact I received over 100% in the past. I’ve been told leaders can give more of a personal multiplier if they can’t give as much of a raise or if your performance is stellar and they want to give you a boost. On the flip, I’ve seen people get totally messed over in the personal multiplier department even with a full rating, and had it reduced.

I always heard individual multiplier was 0.85 for great performance...so really you need a company multiplier of 120 percent most years to be at 100 percent target. Sounds like goal average from HR is closer to 0.75 with deviations up from there depending on how much your manager is willing to fight.

I do know some folks who got FU individual multipliers of 0.5...

Advice is no one should count AIP as part of an annual personal budget. This is true for any job you get a bonus at because it is not guaranteed income. AIP only started for non-management recently so treat it as a "bonus" to not get disappointed if it's low. The enterprise multiplier was 130.1% last year, and 100% the year before. Individual multiplier is used, which may not be 100% this year as leaders will save area AIP budget to give the 105+% to those who scored "exceptional" on review. On the other side AIP was meant to offset large base pay increases. So, you may not get a large base pay % but would get an AIP to compensate. That is where this hurts the associates. Base pay will be less than normal, AIP is less than normal. Prediction is round two of focused reorganizational RIFs will come again in upcoming month I anticipate as teams are boiled down for operational eff. once leadership knows what magic operating they need to reach to survive.

OP - take the total of your equation and multiply that by .25 again for taxes.

It’s actually 23% of last year’s, so yes, about 1/4 of what you got last year , provided you didn’t get a big bump in pay. If you make 50k, and your target is 4%, take 50,000 multiplied by .04 which equals 2,000 and multiply that by .3, so 600.00.

Yeah I think it is, actually kinda the same now that I think about it. It's a huge disappointment to me. I relied on those bonuses to supplement my base pay thru the years. To have a 70% cut in that income at a time when everything is so much more expensive is heartbreaking to me. Meanwhile their profits are higher than the past 3 years. Our members benefits were cut as well making it harder to deliver what they've been used to to have their needs met. It's so disappointing overall.
