Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Employees are the foundation of a company

It seems to me the fact 3M no longer enforces it’s Code of Conduct when the bad conduct involves senior leaders has created so much toxicity 3M cannot survive. We do not even need some of these senior leaders. As a peon if I yelled at a fellow 3Mer in the cubicle next to me I would be punished and rightly so. Employees are the foundation of a company. We have lost so many talented people but the ones creating the rot are still at 3M. It does not make sense to me.

Back to my cubicle……

Quite right, @rbw+1qamXqTu.
Who really cares about people who do the actual work, and know how to do it? But then the failures of the company should not come as a shock.

The morale for its employees are at rock bottom now. People are just showing up for the salary. That's it.

The Code of Conduct only applies to rank and file employees. Those at the EVP/SVP/CEO level don't seem to be held accountable to the same code.

Well said. While 3M leadership likes to blame “legal challenges”, supply chain issues, economic pressures, world conflict and more for why 3M is failing, the real reason 3M is failing is its treatment of employees and the rot created by poor and narcissist leadership. The few days a week I go into the office I can feel the rot. 3M needs to take care of those that do the real work and get rid of the rot. Sadly, because 3M leadership relies so much on consultants they are shielded from the truth and their narcissism allows them to deny that they are the issue and not the hardworking employees that form the foundation of 3M.
