I have worked for this company for over 10 years and can’t believe that I have to contemplate looking for a brand new job. If I am part of this, RIF, I not only lose a decade plus of my nursing career, but I am forced to start all over like a kid graduating from college. How is this fair Bruce? I’m not just a number in your company… I’m a human being with a family. No one has offered me stock incentives or a company jet. I struggle to make every paycheck stretch far enough to get to the next paycheck. I don’t love the modern day slavery that our jobs have become… But I will do what I have to… I’ll do what you say… just to be able to provide for my family. What Humana is doing to its employees is unkind, unfair, and in no way promotes well-being. You say you care about your employees and then turn around and blame us, the work we do, as your excuse for why the company will now choose to let me go. I got off work today and have felt numb ever since. My stress level is so high that my head is pounding and I feel like my energy is gone. How is this fair to us Bruce? Does anyone hear us? Does anyone care?

If I recall correctly, Humana didn't hit targets for the 2022 AIP payout, yet the Board of Directors still approved a 100.00% enterprise multiplier. No such mercy this year.
Was hoping to both rebuild my emergency fund and take a little vacation this year from our AIP award. Now I can't afford to fully do either

Just like how they tell us the raise budget is minuscule but then 2-3 months later, we’ll get an email saying how great the prior year was and we had record profits. Do they think we can’t put 2 and 2 together?
Land on your feet!! Never marry a company in the future, always strive to make yourself more marketable while at the company via their benefits and ALWAYS be ready to go. Sorry this happened to you, hang in there and stay positive. When one door closes ....
Go look at the score card. There are tons of areas that I didn't even know about that we were being graded on. That's is how they are going to justify this.
So where have you been for the last 10 years. Nurses have been getting laid off during the last decade... didn't you notice? Is it now unfair because you are impacted. Give us a break.
EPS continues to grow, Humana is taking in profits. Reducing the AIP from 130% to only 30% makes no sense and frankly, it’s insulting. Do they think we can’t search the information on our own? They’re pushing you out of your jobs people and stealing from your wallet on your way out! They’re insulting you by diminishing the hard work you’ve done to make this company profitable. Follow the money.
"Humana gross profit for the twelve months ending September 30, 2023 was $18.157B, a 7.19% increase year-over-year. Humana annual gross profit for 2022 was $17.18B, a 23.91% increase from 2021. Humana annual gross profit for 2021 was $13.865B, a 10.7% decline from 2020."

2023 had more profit than previous two years when AIP was a lot bigger.
How did we exceed expectations all year and now, even before results come out (in feb) how does AIP go from 130% for 2022 to 30% for 2023? This was from a Google search:
EPS & Revenue
Sep 2023 Beat 8.50% Beat 3.31%
Jun 2023 Beat 1.22% Beat 2.02%
Mar 2023 Beat 1.95% Beat 1.31%
Dec 2023 Scheduled Feb 5
What am I missing?
Every Director I know is also on AIP, and is also only getting 30% AIP. Dont make assumptions that there is this huge conspiracy at the Director level.
Bruce provides a feedback link in his Monday emails. I recommend completing the form and letting him know. That is what other employees do.
We haven't been doing great. There is a go site with the AIP score card. We have not met lots of goals all year. Pay better attention.
I wonder if Bruce and the 10,000 (yes, I am exaggerating but we all know that there is far too many of them) vice presidents at Humana got only 30% of their bonuses. I am sure they can live without a million or 2, but a couple of thousand dollars is huge to me. It means I might not get a vacation or be able to afford certain expenses this year. I, also, wonder where/how they come up with 30%. It totally amazes me how until about November we were doing great. They kept increasing the expected returns for shareholders because the company was doing so well. Now that it is time for us to be compensated, they suddenly find out things weren’t so great after all. Seems fishy to me.
