Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

monday the 22nd letter

My boss told us that we will be getting the letter on Monday and we will be off the pay on the 5th of Feb.
I suppose it will be interesting to see how this process works.

OP - does “Letter” = email? Let us know when you hear something. What org are you in?

None of this is “interesting”. It’s a toxic and cancerous work environment that hurts everyone. Maybe the BOD brains Mr K. needs to pay back for all the pain and suffering he’s inflicted on the people of T. Oh that’s right, pardon me, he’s making all the ESG and DEI metrics. All’s well uncle Larry.

“Lets see, today is Saturday so 10 working days left as we will just be handing in our badge and laptop on the last Monday.”
Your severance will be at risk if you don’t train backups.

FYI, these are management folks, there is no union rep. Don't worry, your turn is coming.

I don't want to be laid off. I'm working hard and appreciate my job and I work in a healthy work culture in my business unit, but I'm in a non-hub and can't leave my family. The company chooses to do this and it has nothing to do with my performance or loyalty, it has to do with a fantasy of work culture that requires a building and a badge scanner to babysit employees. Will moving to a hub get more facetime with mid & upper management like it intends? It doesn't do that now because mid & upper management execs won't fulfill their part in the culture change. The company pays more to lose me than it does for me to lose it. The company is on a mission that won't achieve the goal because it isn't being executed in its true form. The mission will fail because the majority don't believe in it, including the VP's, Att will hand its expertise to its marketplace competitors and will wither to no substance in 5-10 years, contracting at will. It will be a call center in India with 2-3 VP orgs left in Dallas to handle marketing and finance.

Me also!
Lets see, today is Saturday so 10 working days left as we will just be handing in our badge and laptop on the last Monday.
The final count down! where I will do even less than I have since the notice last year that I would be cut. Now I take my 6 months severance pay, and then retire.
sweet deal for me, I hope yours is as sweet also.
good luck

Not much to the process you mentioned. You will be out of work in two weeks. I am hoping to get the call / email. Looking to get the management severance and retire at the same time. Our group is small, not sure we will have to give anyone up.
