Get rid of the unneeded workers. We have way too many workers for a telecommunication company.

For 2024. You are a goner If your job includes canned responses redirecting customers to off shore team for assistance. Offshore teams getting upskilled to replace onshore level 1, 1.5 and 2 position. Spend alot time performing cut and paste function from one system to another(automation only getting started on replacing your job.) Associate Directors will be leading all new teams where entire teams are offshored with exception of two or three SME who will be responsible for reporting, debugging and troubleshooting necessary applications being used.
All non customer facing jobs to be replaced by AI, chatbots, SDM with new roles being established in Mexico, India and Slovakia.
I hate to do it but contractually and if you know the job you can bump the junior person in the Faa.
Former area 2nd lvls are now titled Associate Directors. They think it’s an upgrade when in reality it lumps them in with the Friends and family group for layoffs, guess who goes first?
Finally cutting the multiple management layers that the financial experts have been reporting about for decades. Too bad they didn’t start at the top.
At least everyone has a guaranteed contractual job offer or a SIPP payment that is equal to approx. 2 years of pay, Oh, wait. You guys are management. I'm belly ache LOL'n. Good luck.
“ “Are you saying the graduation is on 1/22? I did not get mu gown yet.”
You have to provide your own gown when notified.
A calendar that contains the timeline of events / steps leading up to the notification date.
What’s a Surplus Calendar?
I can confirm the dates below match the dates on the surplus calendar. The only doubt I have is they are placeholders in the event a surplus is needed. The calendar lists about 12 steps that take place leading up to the notification date. It starts with a business case required about 5 weeks in advance of the notification date.
Here are the 2024 dates... and RTO dates have been expedited. Word is that on the Business side many positions will not be backfilled with resources (offshore or Dallas) even those customers with contracted resources. Some workers have been trying to move but are not being given the option to move. Will be interesting to hear if they will credit customers for reducing their contractual headcount.

AT&T and CWA/IBEW were banking on funding from the extension of the Affordable connectivity act, since it would have provided billions in infrastructure build-out. AT&T will lose a lot of customers and will have to use its own money for expansion. I bet this will lead to cuts and shifty contract negotiations
On our way to less than 100K employees by EOY2024!!
There was never a pause, layoffs are a constant in AT&T with a steady flow of personnel exiting every month for the last 40 years!
They haven’t stopped
Oh, i must be missing a memo. Are you saying the graduation is on 1/22?
I did not get mu gown yet.
The next major alumni class will be announced on 1/22.
They have already, where have you been?
