Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Other companies can CEO's with bad track records

Solo Stoves has a softer-than-expected ad campaign with Snoop Dog, and the CEO is shown the door. AT&T has multiple failed mergers, and the reaction is that the employees must be doing something wrong and need to work harder...in a hub.

"However, the company [Solo] has now said that the advertising campaign hasn't resulted in a substantial revenue increase, leading to the CEO of the company leaving his position. John Merris, who will 'mutually separate' from the company, will be replaced..." (Callum Jones, Unilad)

"Everyone on this board saw the train wreck that was coming with these mergers and decided to ride it out."

It was certainly obvious that the T Mobile thing was never going to get approved. I said so the day it was first announced and I had lots of company. So yes, some of us mere peons did see that these were bad decisions.

We're in a position to judge because we are the loyal employees who trust the CEO to make sound decisions for the company's benefit, as does Wall Street. Not that we have any say-so about those decisions. Stonks gets paid the big bucks to steer the ship and avoid wrecking everything. Is that really so hard to fathom?

Hold on. Everyone on this board saw the train wreck that was coming with these mergers and decided to ride it out. Are we really in a place to judge the CEO of were still here too?

Kind of makes sense if you have a st-pid CEO that it’s directly related to having a st-pid Board of Directors.

  • “The board does whatever Stankey wants. How else would they give him a 20% raise after he lost $45B on the WM deal?”

Putting the company in as much debt as the market capitalization of the entire corporation is literally the sign of peak performance for CEO’s bro.
This is what peak performance looks like.

This is why you’re getting laid off, obviously, you could never rack up so much debt so quickly.
Rookie numbers.
