Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Is their a less relevant top 10 bank?

Number six in assets at merger, number eight four years later. A lot of growth markets in the southeast of US and the mismanagement has allowed competitors to take business while they continue to try a be a larger investment bank. No one in the industry wants to hear anything from Rogers or his minions. When is enough of Rogers and his reboots? Does he get a Truist (SunTruist) 3.0 reboot? We can’t even name NC East RP when HQ is in this region? Are they waiting on Lesher to save them and load us up with more WF execs? Make it make sense?

I am an LDP grad here to tell you that yes, in fact, this bank is terrible. but who runs it, again ....? remind me. LDPers have been leaving or 'retiring' in droves - maybe you have noticed.

Bank is terrible
A case study in mismanagement
Don’t let the foolish LDP grads tell you otherwise
They’ve got useless degrees from state schools in the south

Sounds like you losers should take your below average selves out of our company. I promise you there are plenty of qualified people who would work for Truist.

You're right we're definitely the least relevant top 10 bank at this point. The worst of all worlds basically. Not large enough to compete in IB with the big boys (despite how much they want to) and way too large, clunky, and mismanaged for community banking.
Oh and too much overhead/awful tech to compete with the fintechs/digital banks -- if you want to add a third tier.

And to add insult to industry we're bad at attracting and retaining talent across all of those^ spectrums. ie: no highly skilled investment bankers view us highly, no highly skilled community bankers view us highly (to your point of now even being able to hire an RP etc.), and no highly skilled tech gurus view us highly. Not a great spot to be.
