I don't even work for AT&T (anymore) but ever since I found this site I can't stop coming back.
I can't figure out which is worst, AT&T for being arguably the worst managed company, or the employees who stuck around and put up with it. Seriously, why when you only get the little time you have, would you waste it there ?. You can't get that time back.
And the atmosphere then was so bad, I can't even imagine how much worst it is now.
I just saw something called BackRooms on YouTube and every building they get trapped in reminds me of AT&T buildings. It is very creepy

We make communication go.
BackRooms really is old AT&T work centers. Everytime I see these videos, I say that looks familiar!.

Seems like the consensus here is, "Why leave money to look for money somewhere else ?. I only have a couple more years to go".
That speaks volumes about how the people who work at this company view AT&T. They would leave if they could and hate it. That's what the "couple more years" thing really means.
Anyone close to their pension date is sticking around. It’s a no brainer and to suggest otherwise is foolish.
The younger folks sticking around is another question altogether. That is segment of the workforce the question/comment should be directed to.
I have approx 30 years here. I have spent most of it working from home and getting paid well for it. Its only the past 4 years or so that have been bad. I'm just looking for another four years or so to retire. Why would I start over somewhere else? Lose vacation, learn new stuff, etc.. nah. I'll just milk this for a few more or when they pay me to retire. If I had 20 years left, yes I'd be looking elsewhere.
Money. I'm making 6 figures doing a simple union office job. The contractual job security language is gold standard. Still have a traditional fixed pension with retiree healthcare. I'm guessing you were management and don't have any of that? Lol'n.

And people wonder why no one wants to go back to the office, lol.
