Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Stock down sharply - why?

Our stock fell 12% yesterday - markets were disappointed with our sales, particularly because growth slowed further for our Oracle Cloud Infrastructure business which our leadership believes will be a strong competitor towards AWS from Amazon and Azure from Microsoft. OK...maybe?

At the same time we have boosted investments in our artificial intelligence business in order to grow our cloud services business.

Does anyone else see our strategy as nothing more than following the elephant herd? Have we forgotten how we got to where we are? We need to stay current that much we all know, but has our C level people gotten us to far in over our head where we are chasing everybody on the planet for business that has low margins and high turnover?

Because if they get this wrong, it will be our heads that roll, not theirs.

Oracle has not been a database or software company in a long time. We've been an investment strategy company that focuses on tech acquisitions and it shows.

...............THAT'S EXACTLY THE PROBLEM, MY FRIEND!!!

The worst and saddest part of the stock fall, is that LE stock value is down $16B.

Can we all just have a moment of silence to absorb this bad news.

As always, thank you for your cooperation!

One of the biggest fails we have is our marketing and lack thereof. True marketing has been replaced by self-serve-self promotion of "personalities" along the lines of "likes" and "views" without any connection to actual sales or success. I've been part of so many meetings where the goal - as in the actual goal - is to get more "views" and "likes". There is NO connection to a product sometimes, or what Oracle can help our customer with. The focus of our marketing is "likes", "views", "impressions" and the feeble justification to the effort is to "get the word out". Maybe its because of our connection to TikTok? Oracle's entire "social media" needs to shut down because its useless and only highlights "personalities" who feed into their own popularity, not Oracle's.

Working hard to up your game is not going to help at this point.
It needs to made public that Oracle is replacing corrupt mid mgmt.

Everyone knows that most of Oracle's mid level VPs are corrupt. They know that upper mgmt does not want to be involved with them. That dysfunction is a serious problem and it’s easier to ignore but it has to be addressed. People want to support Oracle but not as things are now.
Drastic major change is needed, first and with a public statement. Stock price will soar.

People know about the fraudulent patents. They know who orchestrated all of that. They need to know that Oracle was him investigated snd we will reap the consequences for harming Oracle and so many. Anyone that is promoted to a place of responsibility that takes from Oracle & employees will be turned over to the authorities

Mid mgmt VPs need to be managed. It’s very simple. Accountability is key. Without it you’ll get more of the same. I will not invest another dime in Oracle until the corrupt are replaced.

We have lost our way, we got to where we are by being the largest Database company in the world. You are correct, we are now stumbling around getting involved in areas where we are completely dependent on acquistions to lead the way. We somehow made the largest investment in our history to get involved with hospital record storage, then over to AI exploration and also into Cloud infrastructure - all things which are not our strong suit and are costing us significantly vs making revenue for the company.

Basically we are now in a race to see who of our competitors or us can get to the bottom first - Good strategy LE keep shelling out our hard earned money on whimsical
risks since you have nothing else better to do.

Absolutely. Strategy failure at C-Suite, while they make millions and hard working employees f---ked while getting peanuts
