Question, does T mobile pay for leased special access circuits from their towers/shared cell sites to ATT and Verizon/local RBOC's? are the RBOC's still tasked with transporting all their data?

I remember (along time ago) a 5th line I knew once explained this way, they are out there mining for gold but we are selling all the picks and shovels.

I've been out of that side of the business for a long time.

The post brings up some very valid points, T-Mobile getting a gift of 4 billion dollars from AT&T was put to good use. We are no longer a stand out company. Our leadership is pathetic, which made most of the workers either angry or apathetic. We aren’t in such dire straits that we can’t pull ourselves out of it. We need intelligent leadership that can at least understand basic electricity and telephony. And address the biggest complaint of every industry, Customer service. Instead of Jugdesh “ John” Patel answering the call and the customer having issues understanding them, have Jimmy from the US answer the call. Give them actual training to expedite repairs.
I have an example. A few years ago my internet was slowing down, I did most of the troubleshooting. Logged into the gateway, saw errors and from what direction. I called the customer service, and the tech kept telling my the problem was my wifi and need to buy wifi extenders and the problem was billable. I explained what I saw, it’s not a billable dispatch and want a tech sent out. asked them to pull the pm of the c/o equipment, Selt test etc. after 3 hours on the phone Jugdesh finally admitted he didn’t know how to access any of it. Nobody was available for their tier 2, He could have been honest with me, not pull wifi extenders out his rear, and either refer it higher up, dispatch to the C/O or to a field tech.
Instead of hearing customers constantly constantly complaining online about call trees to nowhere, call transfers, and inept customer reps, we hear compliments. Customers believing their call is important, calls that are quick and productive and that the customers appreciate their money. AT&T can get customers back. They want to feel valued, and their service to be reliable. Allow the budget for actual repairs of the copper instead of band-aids and bubblegum.
AT&T wanted to get rid of subrate and TDM service. They could have offered deep discounts for a couple years until a business was hooked on the speed. But instead we took $12.00 dry circuits or monitoring circuits and started charging 100.00, same with other low speed basic service for monitoring etc, even t1 lines. Did they thing pi----g off those loyal customers we’re going to make them want to buy more AT&T services or cut ties and go to a different provider?
If we stop shooting ourselves in the foot and stop shooting the people trying to help us we can pull out of this. Sadly we will continue to full steam ahead into the iceberg with warning lights flashing and alarms blaring until the S.S. AT&T either crashes into it, or Rear Admiral Stankey is replaced and we adjust course.

Verizon has their own problems. They're way overpriced and their network while solid no longer is differentiated to allow premium pricing. Verizon commercials are absolutely horrible with that dopey blonde girl in the red high heels.

If you go to VZ's layoff blog all of their employees are also bxtching and moaning about the good old days of Verizon being in the past.

T-Mobile wins. They are the only one not tied down by a pile debt. Then Verizon because T has 3 billion more outstanding shares which equates to additional billions in dividend payouts each year.

I think Att is a little bit different company than the other two. They have a much larger landline area that we can upgrade to fiber or already have. A huge f expense that goes with that network but it’s needed anyway for the wireless network so it’s a positive advantage we have.

Verizon hands down. They have flirted hard in the past and have an existing partnership with US Cellular worth $750M - $1B.
