Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Just more upheaval from Humana

got one too but not all of the experienced folks got one. Another Christmas with layoffs looming. I wish someone would figure out how to manage a business without cutting jobs every year. Wher eis the "human" side of this Humana?

No one signs a contract agreeing not to join a union. Why? That would be illegal. Workers have a right to organize.

Where did you get this idea? Smh

I think everyone hired at Humana signs a contract and agrees to not participate in union activities. Nurses could definitely use some union negotiators here.

I hope they thin the exec ranks. A good place to start is with the worse hire ever in vp of product from the other insurance company.

This is what they did with the anticipated Aetna merger. It saved them from being the bad guy with the reduction of large numbers. Once they see how many choose to retire the additional RIFs will come.

Welcome to Corporate America. Layoffs are part of the corporate strategy. Always have been. Likely always will be.

One thing that gives employees bargaining power is unionizing. And there are plenty of groups within Humana—call center employees, nurses, aides, etc.—that could form a union and collectively bargain.

But some of y’all don’t want to hear that. So the wheel will keep spinning, same as it ever was. Same as it ever was.
