I was at the gym and listening to some voicemails from a former colleague at another company griping about customers contacting her cause they couldn't get through the onboarding material. I was brought back to my 2nd to last Oracle manager who wanted me to "go through the user documentation with the customer". I am legit on the phone with him and I was like, so you want us both to be looking at a document and you want me to make sure she can read it? He's like "well, maybe even read it to her". I smiled and laughed at this pathetic soul manager. I said you want me to read to her. Do you realize how that sounds? He's like, I know but think of it this way...I stopped listening after that. I had realized that my Oracle career was in the toilet at that point and I was being asked to read to a grown adult. Ahhhhhhh. fond memories of working for clowns. the funniest thing is the guy got promoted. either cause no one else wanted the role or because even the dopes above him believe....reading is fundamental. bwwhahahahahahhahahaha.

Haha...I am wondering if people just did not understand that your comment and mine were basically the same. XD
My fault in not attaching a sarc tag I guess!

OP here. I mean, I can't lie. I didn't get into computers until my early 30's when after working at few big companies, I started to get curious. India is huge. Yes, there are tons of tech people that come from there. Are they more talented than Americans or English folks? I wouldn't assume so...there are talented people that come from every race. It also comes down to what you really want out of life. There are a TON of Americans, they just dont want to sit in a chair for 8-10 hours a day. They dont care what you pay them. And after 20 years in a chair...I get it!!! I think for some folks, they may not enjoy it, but it's a means to an end to get out of their countries. I dont have an issues with that. I do have a problem with them working for so much less and Americans are let go to outsource. What I have seen is that the QA is just not there. They will do it cheaper, but you always end up spending more time on the QA and checking their code reuse.

Wonder who the “us” is?
i really don't get into all that. I have worked with people of all walks of life. I have also seen people of certain races get jobs just cause of their race and they turned out to be terrible. Not for nothing, there is much more to life than working. I am spiritual and religious but I realize life is about a lot of variables. And the loneliest person I know makes like 500k and the happiest people I know are teachers who make around 80k. If you're talking technical skills and what not, people in the US definitely don't want to be in front a computer all their days. There's a whole world we want to enjoy. Perspective.
