Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Overcoming the layoff (my pov)

I was an employee of the Caremark/Specialty side of CVS Health for over 18 years. My last working day was 8/14/23 and what a mind f*ck that was for me. I “grieved” for about two months which included reading posts from this site, reddit and linkedin. My separation date of 10/21 was an indicator to me I needed employment before or shortly after that. That was just my personal goal. I want to share the tools that helped me with this life after CVS (i.e. resume, networking, interviews, etc). I will be gainfully employed in two weeks.

  1. Teal+ Resume Builder
  2. Claude AI (I prefer it over ChatGPT)
  3. Grammarly
  4. LinkedIn – checkout youtube videos on the do’s and don’ts
  5. Madeline Mann “Self Made Millennial” – check her out on youtube. So helpful!
  6. Know your brand (e.g. sell yourself as a Scrum Master, BA, Product Owner or Project Manager, NOT all four, for example)
  7. Understand your values and stick to it – you are worth it!

BTW, it’s NOT a numbers game. Respond to every single recruiter even if you experience “ghosting” with some of them. Network and get referral links. Human interaction is where is all it’s at!

Go got this!

Also, they finally fixed the issue where termed members can redeem HeartAtWork points. Got myself a of AirPod Pros and a $2 Krispy Kreme gift certificate 😊 I was not going to leave anything on the table!

LHH - I met once with them and moved on to Teal+, Grammarly and Claude for my resume.

I found LHH very helpful regarding support and direction. Maybe it depends on whom you get assigned to. They did a great refresh to my resume and the live meetings were empowering.

I did find a position and have back to work in time to save that severance. Make this work for you! If you can pocket that severance that is a G-d send.

Great post OP. Take care all, now get out there and getter done!
